The property has long been associated as a centre of social activity in
Hawthorn.
(1920s)
Sunday excursions to the Hawthorn Tea Gardens were considered an integral part
of courtship rituals of the period. Day trippers came by ferry down the Yarra
and spent the day in the rowing boats and canoes available for hire.
(November 1971)
The Leonda By The Yarra function centre opened and was heralded as the "most
modern in Australia".
(March 2006)
Leonda was purchased by new management in March 2006. The new group know the
ingredients of running a successful function venue due to their established
catering experience. |
