Venue & Accessibility
Q: We would like to use the jetty facility and arrive by boat as part of our wedding – do we have to make the arrangements for the boat or will Leonda take care of it?
A: Our staff at Leonda will gladly take care of the arrangements for you. Alternatively, if you prefer to make arrangements of your own, you are most welcome to.
Q: Are there gardens or churches located close by for photos or ceremonies?
A: Yes there are gardens and various churches located near Leonda – upon request we will provide you with a list of these details.
Q: Can we have our ceremony on site?
A: Most certainly. Our lovely courtyard is suitable for ceremonies and holds approximately 100 guests (link to ceremonies page). If you require an area with a larger capacity, there is the option of having it at one of the surrounding gardens – Wallen Road Reserve and Fairview Gardens (you would require permission from the council in order to do this – please refer to http://boroondara.vic.gov.au/our-city/parks-gardens).
Q: How long is the travel time to Leonda via tram and/or train from the city?
A: Not including the waiting time for transport, travelling to Leonda by tram would take approximately 15 minutes.
Q: How long does it take to get to Leonda if driving by car from the city?
A: Depending on traffic conditions, we estimate that it would take approximately 10 minutes.
Q: Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
A: Yes, Leonda By The Yarra is a wheelchair-friendly function venue.
Q: Are there separately allocated parking spaces for guests of the Ballroom and Garden Room?
A: With over 150 parking spaces, the parking at Leonda is usually sufficient for both rooms.
Q: If we have a large attendance and the Leonda car park is full, are there alternate places I may park nearby?
A: Yes there is – the church across the road, Yarra Boulevard and Power Street.
Food & Beverage
Q: There are specific dietary requirements for our event. Do you cater for that?
A: Yes we do. Simply make the request to our event coordinator when discussing/planning your event and we will make the necessary arrangements.
Q: Can I supply my own alcohol for our wedding?
A: Yes. For client supplied alcohol we take $5 off the package fee per person.

Q: Can we engage external caterers for our event?
A: We do allow external caterers as an alternative to our in-house catering when we feel that we are not able to provide the specialised dining needs that you require. These include Asian banquets – we recommend Crystal Palace, and Kosher catering – we recommend Kosher Classique.
Decorations & Entertainment
Q: Are wedding decorations included in your packages? Do we have decoration options to choose from?
A: Yes, decorations are included in our packages as we try our best to provide an all-inclusive package. We also have decoration options that you may select.

Q: Do you provide recommendations for suppliers for our wedding event?
A: Yes we have a list of suppliers with whom we have worked with in the past and are happy and comfortable recommending them to you.

Q: We care about the environment and are mindful about sustainability and carbon footprint. Thus, the green factor affects our choice of wedding venue. What ‘green’ measures does Leonda take to do their part for the environment?

Event Planning & Coordination
Q: How do I book my wedding at Leonda?
A: Booking your event at Leonda is an easy process. Simply get in touch with us to notify us of your wedding details and room requirements and we will finalise all the details in the form of a booking agreement. Once the agreement is signed, a deposit is required to secure the booking. After this is done, you can set your mind at ease knowing that you have secured the venue for your special day.
Q: Is there a minimum number of guests required for in order to book a package for the Garden Room and/or Ballroom?
A: Yes there is. However, this figure depends on a number of variables such as the type of event, time
of year, day of week, etc.

Rooms & Facilities
Q: What are the dimensions of the function rooms?
A: Our larger function room, the Ballroom is approximately 26m by 20m with a dance floor measuring 14.7m by 6.5m while the intimate Garden Room is approximately 16m by 11m with a dance floor measuring 9.5m by 4.8m.
Q: We have families with children attending our wedding, do you provide high chairs for children?
A: Yes we do. We have sufficient high chairs to accommodate most requests.
Q: We require accommodation for our event. Does Leonda have accommodation on site?
A: Unfortunately we do not have accommodation on site. The closest hotel is the Amora Hotel - only 1.5km away (a few minutes by car).
If you intend to spend your wedding night at a hotel, we recommend departing by boat and cruising along the Yarra to one of the beautiful hotels at Southbank (eg: Crown, Langham, etc).
An option for this would be the wedding night packages at the exquisite Langham, Melbourne – this would give you the option to travel to and from your hotel by boat, making a grand and romantic entrance and exit to your wedding.
